Good morning,
Who will inhabit heaven? This week we will explore this topic. We will look at who is Jesus, what did He come to do, what kind of life did Jesus promise, and how do I become an inhabitant of heaven.
What did Jesus come to do?
Seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10)
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Save that which is lost (Matthew 18:11)
For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Give abundant life (John 10:10)
I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21)
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Died for our sin (Romans 5:8)
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Died, buried, and rose again the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Disobedience caused sin to enter this world. God’s creation was perfect. God gave Adam a simple command and Adam chose to disobey. Sin entered and corrupted everything.
Mankind incurred a sin debt he could not pay.
Jesus came and paid our sin debt with His precious, pure, sinless blood. He became sin for us.
No one made Him go to the cross. He did it willingly for us.
Heaven will be our opportunity to spend eternity with the one who bought our salvation at Calvary.
