Good morning,
I was intrigued by this devotion from Pastor Adrian Rogers.
The Bible is very clear, that if a person is unwilling to work, he should not eat. If government is feeding people who refuse to work, who is actually paying for that meal? The people who work.
The only money government has is what it takes from its working citizens.
Read this and think about what Pastor Roger’s is saying.
That my dear friend, is about the end of any nation!
(Adrian Rogers)
“For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: ‘If a man will not work–he shall not eat.’ We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy–they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ–to settle down and earn the bread they eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12
You cannot legislate the poor into freedom–by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.
What one person receives, without working for–another person must work for, without receiving.
The government cannot give to anybody–anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work, because the other half is going to take care of them; and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for–that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation!
“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
