Good morning,
Colossians 3:1-17 is a companion to Psalm 37. Righteousness versus wickedness, good versus evil. We are exhorted to seek things above, put off the wicked character and put on righteous character. The result is the new man has the peace of God. Then we are admonished to let the word of God dwell in us.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you V 16-17
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Then let the word of Christ dwell in us. Teach others what we have learned. Choosing to do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
It is not enough to know what God wants us to do. Once we know, we must obey. Once we are obedient to God’s word, then God tells us to teach and admonish others.
“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2)
We have all the tools we need to teach. The word of God and the Holy Spirit who resides within us.
Go tell others what you know.
