Good morning,
Psalm 33 gives us several descriptions of God. He is good, creative, counselor, deliverer, and our hope. We will explore these attributes of God and see how they apply to believer’s in Christ.
Praise God for His goodness (V 1-5)
“Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. 2 Praise the Lord with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise. 4 For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth. 5 He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.”
God is good and cares for His children.
“O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalm 107:1)
“The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.” (Psalm 145:9)
“And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.” (Mark 10:18)
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” (James 1:17)
God is good, so we should praise Him through song. Our hymnals are excellent places to find songs that praise God. The Bible is also a great place to find reasons to praise God for His goodness.
Try it and it might change the way you worship God.
