Good morning,
Trusting God in every situation should be the goal of all believers.
Psalm 25:1-6, reveals David’s prayer of trust in God.
“Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.6 Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.”
First, David directs his prayer to God.
“…I lift up my soul.”
“…I trust in thee:”
Second, He makes several requests.
“…let me not be ashamed,…”
“…let none that wait on thee be ashamed:”
Third, He requests God to work in his life.
“Shew me thy ways…”
“…teach me thy paths.”
“Lead me in thy truth,…”
“…teach me:…”
Fourth, He acknowledges who God is.
“…thou art the God of my salvation;…”
Fifth, David’s response.
“…on thee do I wait all the day.”
This is a picture of what we as believers in Christ should be doing. If we will follow David’s example, we will grow closer to God. Then when times of trouble come, we will go directly to God.
