Good morning,
When I was a child, I played a game called “Hide and Seek”. One person hid and the other or others tried to find them. Eventually, the person is found.
This is a great picture of individuals trying to hide from God. We do something we know is wrong and try to hide it from God. Fortunately, God already knew what happened. You cannot hide anything from God.
“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:7-13)
Believers should take comfort in the fact that God knows our every move, good and bad. Proverbs 15:3 states, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” He cares about us and is concerned that we do right. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin. We then choose to repent or to continue in sin.
The unbeliever should be concerned. Although sin is the natural state of the unbeliever, it is God’s desire that they repent and trust Christ as Savior and Lord. If they do not, their judgment is everlasting separation from God in the lake of fire (Hell). “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:11-15)
It is God’s desire that all mankind go to heaven. Jesus said, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) He sent His son Jesus to pay our sin debt. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
We have a choice to make. Believe in Christ and go to Heaven or fail to believe in Christ and go to the lake of fire.
CHOOSE JESUS
