WASI offers Senior Housing, Nutrition services, Meals on Wheels, Transportation, In-Home Services, Adult Day Services and Healthy Aging activities.

In-Home Chore Worker
Provide supportive services in the home of a senior citizen by running errands, light housekeeping, meal preparation or socialization.
Eligible applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test to include marijuana, have a clean driving record, and meet state and federal compliance requirements. (Compliance training is paid for by WASI.)
REQUIREMENTS
1. Must comprehend and comply with the Wasilla Area Seniors Inc. Employee Handbook.
2. Must obtain a valid Alaska Driver’s license and provide a current 10‐year DMV printout.
3. No more than 1 moving violation or 1 “at fault” accident within the past 3 years.
5. Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Effective communication with supervisor regarding schedule, progress, and to receive instructions.
3. Maintain a professional image and attitude in regard to clients, visitors, and co‐workers.
6. Must understand instructions in English (both written and spoken).
7. Must be able to accurately complete WASI forms.
8. Must be able to understand and operate GPS devices and cell phones.
9. Must be physically able to step up and down steps, lift up to 50 lbs., squat, kneel, stretch and bend.
10. Navigate icy, snowy roads.
11. Perform all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Wasilla Area Seniors, Inc. (WASI) is seeking dedicated and compassionate volunteers to support our programs serving seniors in the Mat-Su Valley. Volunteers play a vital role in helping us provide meaningful services, companionship, and care to the older adults in our community.
Volunteer Opportunities May Include:
